Questions & answers

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about anointing oil, our ingredients, and how to buy.

What is anointing oil?

Anointing oil is oil that has been prayed over and consecrated — set apart — for use in prayer and worship, following the example of Scripture (James 5:14, Luke 4:40). It is used to anoint people in prayer and to dedicate things to God.

Does the oil heal or treat sickness?

No. The oil has no power of its own and is not a medicine — it does not heal, treat, or cure anything. Anointing is an act of faith and worship. Our faith along with this act of worship creates the atmosphere for miracles, and God is the one who heals.

What is in the anointing oil?

Cold-pressed olive oil with frankincense, myrrh, cinnamon, and cassia — the fragrant ingredients described in Scripture (see Exodus 30). Every bottle is handmade in small batches and prayed over.

How do I use anointing oil?

Begin with prayer, then roll a small amount on the forehead or hands of the person you are praying for, or on the object you are dedicating to God, praying in the name of Jesus. Example prayers — for anointing someone who is sick, for anointing an object, and a salvation prayer — are on our Prayers page.

What sizes do the bottles come in?

The standard bottle is a 10ml glass roller bottle — small enough for a pocket, purse, or carry-on bag. The anointing oil can be purchased in multiple sizes; contact us about larger bottles.

Is it safe for skin?

The blends are made with skin-friendly carrier oils (cold-pressed olive oil or fractionated coconut oil), but they do contain essential oils. They are for external use only — apply a small amount, and discontinue use if any skin irritation occurs.
